  • Molly Yeh on her New Cookbook Sweet Farm, Farm Life, Black Sesame Babka, and Her Love of Cheese Fries
    Mar 13 2025

Katie chats with Molly Yeh, well-known food blogger and host of Food Network’s Girl Meets Farm, about her new baking cookbook, Sweet Farm, filled with over 100 dessert recipes. Many of these recipes are inspired by her own heritage of having a Chinese father and Jewish mother; she uses ingredients like black sesame seeds, halva, red bean paste, matcha, and tahini. She also adds in a nod to her midwestern life with a whole chapter dedicated to cookie salads! Katie gets to sample Molly's Black Sesame Babka, which she has made in collaboration with the famed Breads Bakery.

Molly has a fascinating background, having first moved to New York City to study percussion at Juilliard. It was during this time that she discovered her love of food and exploring new flavors and cuisines in the city. After Julliard, she continued to play freelance music and also began her well-known food blog, My Name is Yeh. She became famous for her baked goods and fun creations using unique ingredients like tahini and marzipan and her signature ingredient, sprinkles.

While living in New York, Molly met her husband, Nick, who was from a farming family in the North Dakota/Minnesota border area. The couple later moved back to the farm and Molly continued to grow her food brand developing recipes and videos online. She later began hosting her Food Network Show, Girl Meets Farm. Molly tells Katie how adjusting to farm life was both relaxing and exciting for her. She is so appreciative of the space and time she has to keep developing recipes and her brand.

Molly and Nick now have two young girls, Bernie and Ira, she tells all the details about what motherhood has been like from early morning workouts, to gymnastics and music class, to how she balances dinnertime. Plus, what harvest is like during different times of year (she even grinds her own fresh flour!).

Join Katie and Molly for an inspiring episode that will make you want to bake up something delicious straight from the farm.

    Mar 6 2025

Katie catches up with her good friend Giada De Laurentiis on her new book, Super-Italian. Giada says the book is a snapshot of where she is in life at the moment -- discussing the virtues of superfoods, and why quality Italian ingredients are the key to nutrition and good health. She explains how La Dolce Vita, the Italian motto of “the sweet life,” is actually a "superfood." The simple act of enjoying your food at a leisurely pace with people you love has healing powers all on its own.

Giada updates us on her personal life as well. Her daughter Jade is 16 years old and has a strong passion for traveling and discovering new foods all over the world. Katie and Giada discuss the different phases of motherhood, with Giada giving excellent advice along the way.

In Giada’s free time, she is an active yoga enthusiast, and swears by both acupuncture and massage therapy. She reveals how she starts each day (spoiler: it's not with coffee, but chicken broth!). She spends more and more time in Italy, discovering new regions and new experiences – she’s hiking in the Dolomites this fall -- and sourcing for her personal food and lifestyle brand, Giadzy.

  • Celebrity Chef Marc Murphy on His European Childhood, His Deep Love of Espresso, and Why No One Invites Him Over For Dinner
    Feb 27 2025

Katie talks with her good friend and celebrity chef, Marc Murphy, a regular on Food Network for many years, with shows like Chopped, Iron Chef America, and Beat Bobby Flay. Marc is known among his friends for throwing the best dinner parties with many courses and gourmet cocktails.

Marc had an incredible childhood as the son of an American diplomat, growing up all over Europe. As a child he lived in France and Italy, as well as in the US. He was fascinated by food and more than happy to try foie gras and oysters by the age of 8. Marc’s mother is French, and he credits learning much of his basic cooking skills from his grandma when he and his brother would spend summers with them in the South of France.

In early adulthood, Marc decided to move to New York to live with his brother, and became a handyman to make money. He would cook dinner almost every night for his brother in lieu of rent, which lead to him enrolling in culinary school at the Institute of Culinary Education in Manhattan.

Marc worked in the top restaurants in Paris and New York, including Windows on the World, and his own restaurant, Landmarc. Marc now cooks at his pop-up restaurant called Marc 179, that he operates in Tribeca for three days every month.

KATIE LEE BIEGEL HAS A PODCAST!!!!

Katie Lee Biegel is one of the most down to earth people. She shines in her welcoming element of what is her podcast. She touches on various topics, of course extremely relatable and inspirational also. She is a very good role model especially in this day and age. I learn a lot about nutritious and satisfying meals from her, and it's really cool when she has guests. She is the furthest thing from pretentious and just a very kind and magnetic individual. I am so so happy she has a podcast!!!! WAY TO GO KATIE!!!
