Today, Andrew and Bryce discuss the NCAA committee ruling on marijuana being dropped from the banned substance list. We go into what they’ve changed so far before the final decision some time around August. Marijuana use in college athletes has shown no effect on athletic performance, therefore deemed to not be a performance enhancing drug (PED). In compliance with the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) and World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the THC threshold has been changed to a higher acceptable tolerance level and precautions of athletes harm from using marijuana is the emphasis. “Name, Image, Likeness” (NIL) deals come to question if popularity and marijuana in all 50 US states are legalized. Currently there are 23 states that legalized recreational and medical use of marijuana.
