  • Chapter 10: Daredevil:Born Again...Again, Sinners, Create Something, and Manny Asks a Question (Not a Segment Though)
    May 5 2025

This chapter takes us waaaaaay back to our last episode (Phew! Way way back).

We talk about Daredevil:Born Again on Disney+ once again. This show was really well done and makes for great conversation. There are some spoilers, so just a heads up.

Ryan Coogler's sinners is a cinematic masterpiece according to Kirk. We speak on the gap that is in Hollywood of marginalized folk creation. Ryan Coogler is not only a great director, he is a great director who is Black.

Is this step taken by Warner Bros. enough of a milestone for other studios to follow suit by giving other marginalized people a shot at "independent" style films? We hope so. It would be great for the industry.

And Manuel asks a question. It would be nice to make this a regular segment on the show. We value Manuel's input so much since he is the elder statesman of the group.

To hear the question, and the fella's responses, tune in and listen.

  • Chapter 09: A Review of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+ (Episodes 1-3)
    May 2 2025

**SPOILER WARNING: If you haven't seen DD:BA, then there are spoilers you may not want to hear...and you need to watch that shit ASAP. **

Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+ picks up right where the Netflix shows left off. We see Carlton...errrr Wilson Fisk (if you listen you'll get this joke) and Matt Murdock pick up right where they left off.

There is a mutual respect between the two of them, but also and understanding that either of them will do what they have to in order to do what they believe to be right.

The acting is amazing. The story is great. And, as the series has finished, there were many thoughts in this podcast about the future of the show (episodes 4-9) that did come to fruition.

This series is about people being unapologetically themselves, good or bad, and having to continually keep their extreme natures in check in order to be deemed "acceptable" or "normal" by society's standards. However, some of that nature can not be put in check no matter how much we want to change.

Do we fight that nature that may not be deemed fit with all our might, or give in to the weight of its conviction?

"I was raised to believe in grace that we can be transformed into a better person, but i was also raised to believe in retribution." - Matt Murdock

  • Chapter 08: Talking more Wolverine, Kirk was Wrong, and What is Exciting Us this Summer
    Mar 11 2025

This is a continuation from the last Chapter (Episode). Listen here if you missed it

We continue talking about Wolverine and how his character could have been/done so much more in the MCU. Old Man Logan and Weapon X are such great stories and it would have been awesome to see those in live action. And, who knows, we might. (until your 90!)

Also, Kirk mentions Amalgam, the gawd awful Marvel and DC crossover that was at best just awful. That's all we will say about that.

And, last but definitely not least, Summer Blockbusters are back...we hope. We talk all about what movies are getting us pumped. The MCU is making a surge with Captain America BNW, Daredevil: BA (Netflix's Marvel shows are canon), Thunderbolts*, and Fantastic Four to name a few. But the one that got us really excited was Superman.

Yes, the titular Man of Steel is back!! And, it couldn't be at a better time. This world needs hope. We need to aspire to more than what we are now. And, this movie shows the Kryptonian in his full 1970s glory, red trunks and all.

James Gunn made Guardians of the Galaxy, the Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, and Creature Commandos ALL cool. Given the vast history of the Kal-El, we think that Superman will make us hope again.

It's a fun episode filled. Be sure to listen. And tell your friends.
