Acerca de esta escucha

"Zero Day Cascade" chronicles the escalating tensions surrounding Iran's nuclear program in the mid-to-late 2000s. At the Natanz Fuel Enrichment Plant, engineer Kian Alavi grows increasingly uneasy about subtle anomalies and inexplicable failures plaguing the centrifuges, suspecting sabotage despite official dismissals. Meanwhile, deep within the NSA facility at Fort Meade, a clandestine operation codenamed "Olympic Games" is underway, tasked with developing a sophisticated cyber weapon to disrupt Iran's enrichment capabilities covertly. Led by analysts like the ethically conflicted Alex Thorne and the enigmatic "Control," and in tense collaboration with Israeli intelligence figures like Rivka Cohen, the team faces immense technical challenges in building a worm (later known as Stuxnet) capable of crossing the air gap, manipulating Siemens PLCs, and causing physical destruction while remaining undetected.

The operation progresses with breakthroughs like exploiting zero-day vulnerabilities and acquiring stolen digital certificates to ensure stealth. After intense development and testing, the Stuxnet worm is deployed, likely via an unsuspecting contractor's USB drive, successfully infiltrating Natanz. The malware begins causing widespread, cascading centrifuge failures, cleverly disguising its actions by feeding normal data to monitoring systems. As chaos mounts inside Natanz, Kian's persistent investigation puts him in danger from internal security forces. Eventually, Stuxnet escapes Natanz, leading to its public discovery by global cybersecurity researchers, triggering international alarm and forcing its creators into damage control. Kian, aided by Mossad, manages a perilous escape from Iran with his family, finding refuge and a new life in the United States, forever marked by the events.
