En diciembre de 2019 Paul B. Preciado pronunció un discurso ante 3.500 psicoanalistas reunidos para las jornadas internacionales de l’École de la Cause Freudienne en París. Les planteó la disyuntiva ante la que se encuentra el psicoanálisis: continuar trabajando con la antigua epistemología de la diferencia sexual y validar de este modo el régimen patriarco-colonial que la sustenta, haciéndose por tanto responsable de la violencia que este produce, o bien abrirse a un proceso de crítica política de sus lenguajes y de sus prácticas y confrontarse a la nueva alianza necropolítica del patriarcado-colonial y las nuevas tecnologías farmacopornográficas.
