The Unofficial Bear Cookbook: Season 3 Edition
Bring incredible dishes from The Bear Season 3 to your home kitchen. From Duck Confit Pâté Fine and Seared Halibut Paupiettes with Red Wine Sauce to a show-stopping Princess Cake and Chicago Tavern-Style Pizza, I hope these recipes capture the spirit of the show.
What's inside:
- Episode-by-episode recipes for dishes featured in Season 3 (except the food-free Legacy and Ice Chips)
- Carmy's Non-negotiables list and chefs featured on the show
- The perfect Roast Chicken technique and how to supreme an orange
- Sauces like Nettle Purée, Sauce d’Or and Cherry Jus
- Every (I hope!) joint featured in the montage that kicks of Episode 2
- Soundtrack list by ep
- No glossy photos or food styling, just clear instructions from one home cook to another
This labor of love isn't affiliated with The Bear, FX, or Hulu – it exists because the official cookbook doesn't (yet). It includes detailed instructions that make the dishes approachable for those of us who aren't born chefs but are determined to try.
What doesn’t it include? This isn’t for chefs rocking sphericators and cool things I don’t even know about. I don’t have recipes for the dishes we see super briefly at Ever (e.g. the carrot terrine) or Noma - those folks have decades of experience and I no more have the arrogance to tackle those than I do to think I should be allowed to fool around with Treasury software.
It's written for fans who want to recreate a little bit of The Bear’s magic at home. Whether you're attempting that golden Béarnaise that makes pork chops sing or mastering the art of brunoise vegetables, this book will guide you through every step. Not bad for a jawn thrown together by a home cook who loves the show as much as you do.
Let's get cooking? Yes, Jeffs.
p.s. I’m just a home cook and a fan of the show. This all started out as a little gift for some people I love and it turned out others dig it too - thank you! As before, if anyone other than me purchases this, I'll continue to donate to organizations which serve people dealing with alcoholism and addiction.
