Has promise as a series.

I liked the overall storyline and the concept of the 2 main characters. however, the author needs to tighten up the actual crime features; the weren't always believable. the story was told in first person- Racheal-who spent a lot of time repeating that Duffy, the other main character, was created out of her imagination. more character development would have been better rather than hearing Rachel's internal thoughts. the narrators voice had a hint of whineyness that became grating towards the end. I do look forward to the next installment.

Fun listen. if you suspend yourself to the book

This is s fun series for mystery fans who want to have a laugh and still listed to a good mystery. you may see the end coming, but you will enjoy the trip. I could not wait for the second one. like a good friend..

great original story. lovely narator.

I love the haunted guesthouse series. this story has no supernatural elements, at least not so far, but its a great story too. Is the investigator who asks for Rachel's help really the character in het book? great plot twist.

Meh

Made it through, it was touch and go by the end. Things got so obvious and repetitive.

Interesting story, but not believable

The action scenes are totally unbelievable. Completely controlling a non drugged kidnap victim 1 on 1? Really? I was rolling my eyes way too much during these scenes. I feel bad cause I really liked the storyline. I can enjoy the premise, but have to rework these scenes in my mind each time or I would stop listening. Seriously annoyed me and I had to breath through it. I wish I could see this author give more believability and I would love these stories. Good narration though.

Great narration

This was an interesting book. The plot was interesting enough to keep you going. I wasn’t terribly surprised by the ending, but I loved the way the narrator made the characters come alive! It was a fun little cozy mystery and I will be interested to listen to the rest of the series.

Unique!

In a suspenseful story like this, I didn’t expect there to be so many genuine laughs! I’ve never read anything like this. Surprises in characters, plot, and inner dialogue kept me listening and wishing book 2 was written and ready. The narration was well done and believable. Thanks for the great read, E. J.!
