Acerca de esta escucha

Immerse yourself in this compelling narrative as it unfolds through the diverse and captivating voices of our talented cast. Featuring unique voice actors, the audiobook brings to life the three intertwining plotlines that make Wounded Tiger an unforgettable experience.

Experience the poignant storytelling of Mitsuo Fuchida, portrayed by a fluent Japanese American male voice actor, whose authentic accent adds depth to Fuchida's character. Listen as the youthful energy of an American male in his late 20s embodies the spirit of Jake DeShazer, and hear the vibrant perspective of a college-age female voice actor as she brings the character of Ann Covell to life.

Additionally, the author, T. Martin Bennett brings a personal introduction and insightful outro, providing a unique glimpse into the story's inspirations and themes.

Wounded Tiger is the true story of the pilot who led the Pearl Harbor Attack, whose life was changed by an American prisoner and by a girl he never met. Three incredibly different people have their paths cross in ways so remarkable as to almost be unbelievable if it weren't so well documented.

This massively updated third edition contains new content and information.

Absolutely LOVED this book!

The narration was perfect for all the characters. I really enjoyed this story. I loved how it all intertwined and came together at the end. And just to know it was a true story about Pearl Harbor made it even more special. Very well written. I heard this author on an interview on my churches podcast. Seacoast Church podcast. So I ordered the book. So glad I did! He said he wrote it as a movie first and then a novel. I saw that movie in my head as I was listening. I can’t wait to watch it one day! :) Bravo!

Finally, history that is alive!!!

Wounded Tiger is not just history—it is storytelling at its finest. Too often, history books trudge through dry archives, cataloging facts like a meticulous filing clerk. But this book? This book soars. It is an epic, story with zero fighters exploding from the pages, where voices rise like a symphony, wrapping the imagination in a tapestry of colors and emotions that refuse to let go.

The depth of research is staggering. Wounded Tiger unearths details long buried beneath the dust of time, restoring them with a vibrancy that feels cinematic (as it should). This is history as it was meant to be told—rich, alive, and pulsing with the heartbeat of those who lived it.

And the performance? A masterpiece in its own right. Rather than a lone narrator struggling to mimic accents, the production breathes with authenticity. A native Japanese speaker, a young woman, a young man, and a strong narrator come together to create a living, breathing experience. You don’t just listen—you enter the story, feeling the weight of every whispered hope, every desperate prayer, every thunderous revelation.

Then there’s the story itself—so improbable, so intricate, that if it weren’t true, it might be dismissed as fiction. Three lives, seemingly unconnected, pulled together by the invisible hand of God, culminating in a transformation that ripples far beyond their own existence. The sheer brilliance of how their journeys intertwine leaves you wanting more.
This is not just a book. It is an experience, a journey, a world waiting to unfold in the mind’s eye. And when it ends, one thought remains: This must be made into a movie—or perhaps an entire trilogy. Some stories are too powerful to remain bound within pages. WOW!!!

like old time radio

having multiple readers of the book made it very old time radio like using a genuine Japanese accent actor or reader and voices that sounded like they were from the 40s and 50s for the American parts and then having a general narrator really created pictures in my mind and what was going on. so this would make a great movie I think to get all 130 some odd chapters it would also play very well and a five-part miniseries I'll be at an epic miniseries like Shogun or roots.
