Tozer’s writing is unmatched in depth, clarity, truth and wit. The narrator accurately and engagingly communicated what I believe is the true sense of the author . Both fun and deeply inspiring to listen to.

Narration is distracting. Tone is irritating. A.W. Tozer's thoughts are significant and worthwhile to consider.

Another A. W. Tozer Must Listen!!

Other than C. S. Louis, A. W. Tozer's Insights on Christianity, & more specifically, worship, has made a lasting impact on my life! As of 10/11/24, this title is free with Audible +, so I strongly recommend giving it a listen, before it gets cycled out! The narration, by Grover Gardner, was phenomenal, keeping my interest, while being soothed into a relaxed state, where I'm able to focus 110%, on the author's message! I have several audiobooks, across multiple genres, that Mr Gardner narrated, and his voice reminds me of my Pepe's voice, he'd always read The Chronicles of Narnia series to all us grandchildren, for exactly 90-min, every time we would sleep over their house on the weekends! This was back in the '80s, before they started labeling normal children with ADHD, for acting like normal children, alas, I digress... Back to my review!

A timeless writing that is still relevant today!

This is the first work of Tozer I have read/listened to, and it won’t be my last. Now I know why so many of my favorite Christian pastors and speakers quote him so much!

This is a great read we can never love him like he deserves but I'm going to do my best

what a wise man of God he was. as a pastor I love worship but he explains in so much depth the adoration we should have for God. this whole book is awesome and great narration too

I found this book enlightening. I want to draw nearer to the Lord in spirit and in truth. This is a helpful book.

Excellent content - PERFECT narration!

Awesome book, straight to the point - no chasers. Tozer’s explanation, teaching, insight, and experience on worship is refreshing, inspiring, and convicting. I stopped the audio quite a few times to let some points and questions sink in - points that will stay with me in prayer and worship for the long haul of my walk with the Lord.

His insight and teaching is rooted in the kind of Biblical truth that can only come from someone who fears, loves, and walks with the Lord and Christ Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit. What Tozer gives in this book, no seminary, formal academic training, or fancy tutelage under some “great” theologian could ever offer. Tozer gives fresh and authoritative insight to what worship REALLY is and means, and the reality of who God REALLY is as it relates to our worship. His teaching is no carbon copy of religious writing littered with subtle notes of personal denominational affiliation that are sprinkled in the undertones of his conclusions and perspectives. Instead, he unapologetically highlights the true causes for lack of worship - the kind people may not like to hear - in both the church as a whole and individual Christians. Tozer tells you what really thinks, no flowery “religious correctness.” How perfect and rare. You will be challenged, and you will be thankful for it!

I have read so many books by our greatest theologians, from centuries ago, to decades ago - and from all over the world. But Tozer’s book is a first in its sharp, not menacing, but indescribably refreshing points around accountability and the obstacles to true worship. This book was an absolute, spiritual treat! His illustrations are crisp, simple but powerful, and gloriously authentic.

I’m not sure, however, that I would have been able to capture the full, authentic essence of this book without the perfect matching of the narrator. No one else could have narrated this book and it still have the same effect - delivery of the fullness and transparency of his written words to the listener/reader. The narrator is so perfect, I’m not sure I’ll be able to listen to any other me audio book by Tozer if he is not doing the narration! I’ll have to order the book and just read it.

Any-who, if you made it this far in the review, let me conclude by stating the obvious: it is a must read for beginning and mature Christians! I will have to both listen again and order the book!
