Much better than the previous book

Loved that Doc finally got his story, as well as the fact that the romantic lead wasn't some weak-willed character, but someone who struggled with a "weakness" & triumphed over it.

good story, great narration

I've read all of this series up to this book. It's in the romance pkg and narrated by Douglas Berger,; win, win. This story follows the other stories with Doc and Val. I liked both characters and the action around them was written well. I like that all Cindy's characters are written differently. Give this one a listen. Really good.
I think I'll go back and listen to some of the other stories I've already read.

Another good story!!

I’m really enjoying these Black Ops books!!! I love Luke aka Doc & Valentina story. Luke helped Valentina to see how strong she is and worth something. And she was able to fill that part of him that died when he got hurt in the last book. I love the action in these books. I was surprised with what happened at the end with Valentina’s ex.

One of the best so far!

This is one of my favorites of the series. Luke is such a good guy by nature and this book starts off with him just doing what comes naturally.

Captivating

Captivating intense and emotional story by Cindy Gerard but for me what makes it even better 5* is the voice of Douglas Berger! Love his voice in everything he reads! He is definitely in my top list of narrators-Thank you

Doc gets his woman

Doc gets his woman. Finally after almost all the men have found their forever love, Doc finds his. As it turns out he has lusted after her since he was a teen. Their paths cross on a train when bad men are trying to get her. She is disguised as a teen boy, so he helped without even knowing who she was. They then are on a run for their lives and along the way, fall in love. Fantastic adventure, thrills and steam. Narration was wonderful.

Charismatic Characters and Riveting Story

Cindy Gerard is a master at weaving personality into her characters and this is no exception. Luke and Val have love and heat while surrounded bullets and danger.

Douglas Berger is one of my new favorite narrators. He offers humor, sincerity, sexuality and the perfect voice inflection for the various BOI characters. Loved this book!

My favorite in the series

Not only was this more engaging than the previous titles, the author refrained from completely insulting Peru and the Peruvian people. In the previous novels she absolutely decimated the countries and entire populations of impoverished people. Their neighborhoods were all rat infested and full of hardened criminals with nothing and no one good to redeem them. Thank goodness for growth!

I also thoroughly enjoyed the love story between Doc and Val. This is definitely the jewel of the series so far. I’m crossing my fingers that the final novel is just as good if not better.

Love all lhe soldiers and I especially like how the author include their wives and how no one dies. Great soldier/army series, Can’t wait to read the next book.

Excellent. I was a little leery about Dolly and James doing a book together but, I hope they do more we of them. really enjoyed it.
