Truly wonderful story

I've always been a "fan" and was a little apprehensive at David Baldacci venturing into a different area of storytelling. Should I take that ride with him? I am so glad I did. His way with words painted a picture that did not need me to close my eyes (lucky, I was listening to an audiobook in the car). The characters captured my interest and I hope he chooses to fill in the stories of the family members between then and now. I live a long way from the setting of this story but I could have lived in the next valley I was so caught up in the ebb and flow of the families sadness and joy. Thank you David.
