While on the run from Empire guards, Will Hawthorne and his band of thieves are transported to a mysterious land that none of them recognize or know how to get home from. But is there any recourse for Will and his friends once it turns out that the humans who are sheltering them may not be on the right side of their eternal conflict?

I enjoyed "Act of Will" and couldn't wait to listen to the next book about Will Hawthorne - "Will Power". Again, it was compulsive listening and I much appreciate Will's narrative style - cheeky and 21st century, whilst living in a medieval fantasy setting. That may sound strange, but is successful and very funny.

Will begins to show a few disturbing hints of responsibility - but not too much. He is so likeable, but continues to irritate and make us cringe at his lack of diplomacy, but applaud at the way his quick tongue saves a situation. We do hear a little of the background to some of Will's companion adventurers. The storyline takes many twists and turns and like the first book is full of action, suspenseful cliff hangers and some strange and very interesting new friends and foes. Nevertheless, we are aware that lurking behind all the fun are grimmer echoes of our own world.

Can't wait for A J Hartley to write more "Will" books and Audible to bring us audio versions with the same narrators. Terrific entertainment, first class narration and highly recommended.
