Why Didn’t They Hear Us? contains:
- Examples from the author’s life and from research about how children are harmed when they have no voice.
- Hope and encouragement for adults unheard as children to not repeat the same mistakes with children today.
- Proposals to minimize the problem of children not given a voice in society.
Why Didn’t They Hear Us? is divided into three sections. The first section deals with the causes and factors contributing to children being unheard, including parental, educational, religious, legal, and societal. Section two discusses the consequences of children not being listened to and how they may react as a response at home, at school, and in other parts of society. Section three offers to parents, educators, Christian leaders, legal officials, and others suggestions to minimize the pain and negative reactions of children who feel and are often unheard.
