Acerca de esta escucha
What's holding you back? Your hard work is paying off. You are doing well in your field. But there is something standing between you and the next level of achievement. Perhaps one small flaw, a behavior you barely even recognize, is the only thing that's keeping you from where you want to be.
Who can help? Marshall Goldsmith is an expert at helping global leaders overcome their (sometimes unconscious) annoying habits and attaining a higher level of success. His one-on-one coaching comes with a six-figure price tag. But with this audiobook, you'll get Marshall's great advice without the hefty fee!
What is the solution? The Harvard Business Review asked Goldsmith, "What is the most common problem faced by the executives that you coach?" Inside, he answers this question by discussing not only the key beliefs of successful leaders, but also the behaviors that hold them back. He addresses the fundamental problems that often come with success and offers ways to attack them. Goldsmith outlines 20 habits commonly found in the corporate environment and provides a systematic approach to helping executives achieve a positive change in behavior.

We live in a world that’s obsessed with talent. We celebrate gifted students in school, natural athletes in sports, and child prodigies in music. But admiring people who start out with innate advantages leads us to overlook the distance we ourselves can travel. We underestimate the range of skills that we can learn and how good we can become. We can all improve at improving. And when opportunity doesn’t knock, there are ways to build a door.

Historia
Being a CEO at any of the world’s largest companies is among the most challenging roles in business. Billions, and even trillions, are at stake—and the fates of tens of thousands of employees often hang in the balance. Yet, even when “can’t miss” high-achievers win the top job, very few excel. For those who shoulder the burden of being the one on whom everyone counts, a manual for excellence is sorely needed. To identify the 21st century’s best CEOs, the authors of CEO Excellence started with a pool of over 2,400 public company CEOs.

We've all had experiences with two dramatically different types of leaders. The first type drain intelligence, energy, and capability from the people around them and always need to be the smartest people in the room. These are the idea killers, the energy sappers, the diminishers of talent and commitment. On the other side of the spectrum are leaders who use their intelligence to amplify the smarts and capabilities of the people around them.

How often do you interrupt? How often do people interrupt you? Can you remember the last time someone listened to you all the way through your thinking? In her new book, Nancy Kline, best-selling author of Time to Think, makes this radical proposal: 'I won't interrupt you' is a promise that changes everything. It deepens relationships, spawns dignity, raises the intelligence of groups and enriches every conversation. It may, in fact, be the most important promise we ever make. And the hardest to keep.

Historia
Harpreet Grover and Vibhore Goyal met in college and then spent the next decade of their lives building a company before exiting successfully. One way to tell their story is this: they had a dream, they followed it and, then, through perseverance, they made it come true. But that’s not really the truth. Like everything in life - at least everything worth having - it wasn’t that simple. There was blood, sweat and tears, there was loss of capital, loss of friendship and even a loss of faith along the way.

In 2009, Jackie Hooper came up with a way to help people recapture a moment that had once passed them by. She began asking them to write letters that answered one question: If you had another chance, what would you do differently? Based on the popular blog of the same name, this captivating collection of letters presents the stories of ordinary people.

Not about 360
I enjoyed the book. For me the value was in hearing Goldsmith talk about annoying & distracting habits, some of which plague me. In listening to his discussion of the habits I learned a few things about myself. Now I can change a few behaviors that may have been annoying others and holding me back.

Wrong title for the book
Should be named, bad habits from successful people. I was expecting the book to focus more on the fact that after you get to a senior position you are as much qualified as most of the people around you, and you must differentiate yourself. Also the reader is extremely boring, I couldn’t listen to it while driving, cause I started falling sleep.

What to, and Not to do...
To start with, this is a good book written by someone who knows what they are doing. I learned a lot. What makes this book even more special is that the author made a point of sharing those things that get in the way of your success (what Not to do). This Not part is not a part of many self help books. I for one found the Nots quite helpful.

Eye opening
This book is eye opening. We often think if I just continue with what has made me successful, I will become more successful but that is far from the truth. I appreciate the insights and perspective.
