Enjoyed it

The narrator does a fine job of reading this biographical book. The author did his homework and worked with the subject to tell his life’s story. I enjoyed it.

A lot of interesting content ably performed

As a mild fan of the filmmaker, I was intrigued by much of the content, especially the information about his more obscure work. I appreciated the time that was devoted to his early influences and how he was shaped as an artist, and I appreciated even more that this section wasn't as overlong as some biographers get about these portions of their subject's lives.

Pete Larkin was pleasant to listen to, but he misread a couple of words here and there and said long I's when he shouldn't have.

Well worth a listen

Great all the way through to the last line. Worth a read for any horror lover.

From his early days, to Freddy, to changing horror with the Scream series, you will travel the career of Craven and the movies that a generation loves. A great telling.

Intriguing

I loved it! The performance was wonderful and the story kept you wanting more. Wes Craven is one of my favorite people and learning how his mind worked was fascinating.

Still waiting to hear about his nightmares!

If I wanted a chronological timeline of the horror genre I would have Googled it.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Make it fun to read. This thing is so boring I could not get past chapter 6. Filled with boring information about the times his movie was made more than any real info on Wes.

What could John Wooley have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Written a good book that was about Wes Craven and not the times around Wes Craven.

What didn’t you like about Pete Larkin’s performance?

Nothing. His feeble attempt to sounds like Wes was so bad.

Don't waste your money. If you want to know what was happing in the world at the time Wes made his movies this is the book for you. If you want to read about Wes, wrong book.
