Wilbur Smith does it again

A fine ,well written book.it continues the Courtney family and blends in with three other book seamlessly.Wilbur Smith is on of the all time great writers,storytellers and historians.

A very large and more complex volume

This book is the most complex and busy book that I have read and listened to from the series. Although I enjoyed the book, it was very complex, with a lot of moving parts, and, to me it lacked the majesty and beauty found in previous books

I do not have much to say except thank you Wilbur Smith for returning to your roots & giving us the well written story I had come to expect years ago

Another wonderful book and story

Wilbur Smith stories of Africa role was very special. I've read all of them and they're all good.

Voice sounds manipulated

The book was pretty good. But I suspect the voice was electronically manipulated. Like in the 70's when they would slow the voices on the radio down to give it a raspy, deeper quality. It was hard to listen to. But I'm a Wilbur Smith fan and I enjoyed the story.

One of the best of the Courtney Famly stories. Left me hanging at the end...now to find the next in the series.

One of my all time favorite authors. Have read everything he has written some 2 and 3 times.

An instant classic by Wilbur Smith

Wow, just finished this book and it kept me hooked. What a great story about the Courtney family. Just before and during the second world war this tale was a great sequel to Asegai, the former Courtney book but can be read as a stand alone story as well. This story of two young people destined to be together but ripped apart from each other by twists of fate. Wilbur Smith and David Churchill created another great story in the Courtney family saga and I do hope that this book will be followed up by yet another one since the tale has not finished yet.

FABULOUS

If you haven’t read Wilbur Smith YOU NEED TO! I am so sad because I have now finished all of his series along with all but one of his novels. I’m saving that for an up coming road trip with my husband.
Mr. Smiths writing style is so very extraordinary, vivid, alive, I feel like I am a character in one of his stories his novels are so easy to melt into. I feel as though I can, smell the air, taste the salt of the sea, feel the stinging heat of the desert, touch the minerals and rocks, hike through the jungles, go on Safari, feel the splashing rain, smell the mineral iron smell of blood, ride a horse....I JUST DO NOT KNOW HOW TO EXPRESS HOW FABULOUS THESE NOVELS & SERIES ARE!
