The only thing this book has in common with the rest of the series was the names of two characters. Even their personalities were changed, and backgrounds ignored. Weak effort.

Couldn't get past the narration
The narration in this book is so bad I was not able to get through chapter 5. I have been reading and enjoying WEB Griffin books for more than, ugh, 40 years now. This is not worth a listen, it may be a good read but I am not able to do so anymore with my vision as degraded as it is. I hope the next volume is released with a new narrator. Rudnicki sounds like a box of rocks being dragged down a gravel road by a big block Ford with open headers during a thunderstorm.

Take my advice and pass on this...
"Fantasy plot" + pretentious narrator= waste of $ for this. I couldn't even get partway through this tripe, and I'm a longtime Griffin fan.
