In section I of the essay, the author discusses the development of the individual vision. In section II, the author discusses the development of the individual will. In section III, he unites the vision and the will to create our individual world, that is, the world of our unique subjectivity. He then concludes the essay by noting that changing the world around us requires us first to change what goes on inside us. That is to say, if we don't like how society is structured, we can change it only by first changing the structure of our individual minds, not by directly reforming society itself. In other words, private psychological change must drive all social and political change, not vice versa. The author understands this might be a controversial view, but let's please allow him to proceed and see where he takes us.
