Great addition to the Joe Pickett books, always glad when my favorite characters stay alive!

Factoids incorrect inside.....

In the story, it is said that Missy killed her husband Bud Longbreak by chaining his body to a wind turbine; in fact, she killed Earl A., her 4th husband that horrible way....and the special hat given Joe by Gov Spence was suddenly $2500 instead of the $900 the Gov had said originally upon giving it to him.

really enjoyed this read. Good narration.
CJ Box does it agian. I look forward to the next one.

I liked the story but it left me hanging. Hopefully the next Ickes novel is out soon.

Quite a package of bad guys, some we might see again. More Nate please! He's the usually the best part of the story.

What's next

Now it is going to be so hard to wait for the next book. Torture to say the least.

You just can't make this stuff up! New story line development......

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes. As always when you think about the kidnapping of the bar tender..... really? The author was really thinking through the entire plot. How does Missy get away with what she does?

What does David Chandler bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The different inflections of voice that he uses draws pictures of the characters as well as the scene in my mind

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I've been waiting for another Joe Pickett book and in the interim since the last, I've listened to other authors in the rural mystery vein only to find them lacking. C.J. Box is a national treasure.
