It was here, growing up in America's heartland, that Bettie Youngs learned the many values of family life: love, respect, honor, loyalty, and self discipline, among others. Told here in loving detail are nostalgic stories recollected from Youngs' life - a rich tapestry that allows us to share in the warmth and balance of a principle-centered life.
Youngs' life in a large family was not without difficulties, yet through these value-laden stories she shows us how challenging times, when leavened with love and support, can provide strength of character, courage, and leadership.
