A New Perspective on Nation Building in Afghanistan and Beyond

As of December 2024, millions are starving in Afghanistan while the US and its allies continue to impose economic sanctions and withhold much of the aid that was given prior to the August 2021 withdrawal from the country. While the goal of this policy is to express disapproval toward the Afghan government, it is the innocent people who are suffering as a result.

Vacant Wisdom, Hollow Power explores:

• The need for immediate action to save lives and alleviate the humanitarian crisis.
• The "Not In My Backyard" (NIMBY) phenomenon, and how it has historically impacted American efforts to intervene in other nations.
• The many risks to American national security and geopolitical interests that would be incurred by allowing the present situation to continue unchecked.
• The Organic Project-Based Educational Ecosystem (OPBEE), and how it can give even Afghans in the most rural locations a future.
• A framework for how Afghanistan can be peacefully transformed--through business development, OPBEE, and mutually agreeable compromises to their system--into a prosperous and strong regional ally, with substantially more freedoms for women and all citizens than they enjoy today.
