Plots

This book was sooo amazing I loved everything about this book. I loved how it jumped from place to place from different time events that came throughout the book. It was very straightforward and it really brought my attention and wanted me to read more and more. I cannot tell you how much I love this book and I could not put this book down. This was the first book that I have read that has made me cry. I’m not going to give any spoilers but what part that is, but it was the best crying moment of my life 😂. I will definitely recommend this book to anybody! This was a five out of five star read!!!🥰😆

Beautiful Story

This is a beautiful story about pain, dysfunctional families, forgiveness, and healing. If you have trauma, it could be a trigger. However, carefully read and enjoy the lessons of healing through a very rough life.

This is a true story and written so well.

I loved everything but it also broke my heart. Helen endured so much pain but still came through.

Bring tissues!

I've read the physical copy twice and now have the audible version. The author, Desiree Moore, narrated the audio book herself. Hearing her voice and knowing her story has brought forth so much more emotion than expected.

Hauntingly Beautiful

This story will stay with me for the rest of my life. Although it is fiction, knowing that much of it is based on true lived experiences by the author, will leave you breathless and heartbroken at times. The author has laid parts of her soul bare for all of us to see, and it is hauntingly beautiful. This is not only a story of abuse in all its forms, but a story of redemption and breaking the cycles that hold so many chained to their circumstances.

Wow! Absolutely adore this story and author! Can’t wait for more.

What a beautifully written love story of a mother and her daughters. I read/ listened to this book in one sitting. The dual timeline adds to the experience making it even more of a page turner. I spent my day crying, laughing and feeling so much pride and admiration for Helen. I can’t say enough good things about this book and how well it is done with the sensitive subjects it discusses. If this is her debut book, I can’t even begin to imagine what else she will give us. I can’t wait! Btw hearing you and your daughter was so very special. Love this book!

Keeps you wanting more!

I downloaded this book to listen to for my 7 hour drive. For the first time ever I had wished my drive was just a bit longer so I could finish the book in one go. The story of growing up in a not so ideal world, overcoming so many challenges, and beating so many odds just kept me wanting more! I can’t wait for Desiree’s next book!
