Loved this M/M paranormal romance!

In this second book in the Mates series, we get to revisit two characters that showed up briefly toward the end of the first book, Ethan and Miguel. When I read about their characters in that book, I found them intriguing and was hoping that I'd get to find out more about them. So, I was very happy to see that Until Forever Comes was their story.

This story deviates a bit from the standard shifter mates type formula since while Ethan is a shifter, Miguel is a vampire. But while some things in the shifter world may usually play out along a certain set of rules, not everything will always follow those rules, and this is one of those times--giving us the unique deviation that forms their relationship.

I found the explanations behind Ethan and Miguel's unusual pairing quite interesting and it made for an intriguing read. The chemistry between the two in terms of anything not sexual though didn't quite feel as authentic. Their sexual chemistry though? Super hot and it made for some holy-wow-I-need-a-cold-shower scenes.

There's plenty of drama and suspense, and even though the emotional parts of Ethan and Miguel's relationship didn't quite ring as true for me as their sexual chemistry, I was still quite invested in their story.

Until Forever Comes was originally a solid 4-star read for me, but after listening to the audiobook, I've bumped that up to a 4.5. I'd recommend this book to readers who enjoy M/M paranormal romance, and this story is meant for those who are 18+ due to adult language and intense adult M/M sexual scenes.

Update-The narration: Do you know what narration can do for a story? It can change what I have rated a book previously. Charlie David's narration of Until Forever Comes? Beside the fact that he really brought the story alive and gave Ethan and Miguel distinct voices that suited each of them perfectly, he actually made me enjoy the story more than when I just read it myself...enough for me to throw another half star onto my rating. Even pacing, clear diction and the right balance of emotion made for a truly enjoyable listening experience! 5 stars for Mr. David's narration!

Really enjoyed this

I had read this series on my kindle and when I saw they were on audible, I had to pick this one up. A very young shifter who has never fit in his own skin meets a 400 year old vamp who he recognizes as his true mate. A lot of loving and sex and a good story, plus a great narration by Charlie David. Well worth a credit.

Can't beat fate...

An interesting premise and such a sweet story. Loved Ethan and his resolute and differing perspective...it is what it is! Miguel falls for the undeniable logic. Thoroughly enjoyed the journey and I would be curious to see what the future holds for some of the cast...a good read!

Opposite Does Attract.

Ethan and Miguel story was absolutely wonderful. It just goes to show you even in the paranormal/shifter world opposite does attract also. When you come to realize, there's No telling who your mates can be. Miguel & Ethan proved that. Cardeno C. did an wonderful job writing and telling their story. Charlie David is one of the best narrator out here today. He always brings characters to life.👍I've been waiting patiently for new books from C.C. to become available on adubile.🙂

One of my favorite audiobooks

This is one of those books where I can listen to it over and over again. It’s a great story and despite being the second book in the Mates series, it was the first book I had read. After reading the others, this remains a clear favorite. It’s super low angst (unlike the rest) and the repertoire between Miguel and Ethan was lovely. The premise of how Miguel and Ethan are true mates was extremely inventive and like nothing else you’d find in any other shifter novel. This, combined with Cardeno’s Siphon book, just proves how truly gifted the author is. The narrator did well overall. There were a few spots where you could hear background noise or him taking big breaths. The accents were spot on, though!

I loved this second book in the series. I love both shifters and vampire stories and having them mated was great!

Right up at the top I love CC's books, I devour them as soon as I get them.

The way Ethan didn't give up on what he wanted, and he wanted Miguel.

What does Charlie David bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The voice he has is amazing.

Ethan, he goes after what he wants and doesn't give up.

Superbly written story, amazing lead characters with such intensely hot chemistry and passion. This story has everything and I highly recommend.

Narrator Charlie David delivered a beautiful tale about a shifter boy and his vampire. Listeners who aren’t already fans, will fall in love with this narrator’s smooth voice. His flawless narration and soft vocal versatility will completely engage listeners. Our shifter boy grows up to be an alpha and in the meantime his soulmate has to come to terms with being not only a vampire, but the soulmate of the boy who he ignores like the plague, but still needs his elixir.

I wouldn’t say the vampire is selfish as much as emotionally dumb and awkward. He lives alone and in solitude while none the wiser. He needs his mate Ethan, as much as his mate needs him. Ethan Knows better, and although the vampire pushed him away, he delivers blood to his vampire’s door, until he has pack responsibilities and no longer can do so.

Finally, the vampire gets off his ass to go find out why the supply stopped and who supplied it in the first place……

I do recommend this audiobook. Especially if you love paranormal romances. This series is a classic and a trendsetter.
