With the help of her trusted friend and private investigator Trish Seaholm, Camille begins a dogged pursuit to find Charli’s daughter and bring the man who framed Charli to justice. As Camille’s quest for the truth takes her team from Seattle to the San Juan Islands to the mountains of Olympic National Park, she must reckon with a system that routinely dismisses the rights of convicted mothers—and has their children pay the price.

Entertaining, realistic and insightful!

As a person with a great deal of experience with our “criminal justice system”, I was incredibly impressed how well the author portrayed the reality of women’s life within the “system”. DuBois has done justice to insightful truths and accurately sheds light on so many social justice issues that need to be changed. The storyline is inspiring and disturbing at the same time. And it’s impossible to not admire the strength and resiliency of the women we’ve left behind. I love it when I can be pulled into the entertainment and still appreciate the call to action underneath. “If not you, then who. And if not now, then when?”
The narrator performed well, but could have added just a little more emphasis to these vibrant characters. Overall, very well done!
