What Can You Expect from Teresa.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This book was like trying to look away from a gruesome accident. I had to keep listening even though it was painful. The story was ok. I actually like her voice but she does need to do some serious work and learn to read like an adult.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It was ok. I didn't think it was a great ending but then her story isn't finished yet, is it?

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Toward the last third of the book it seemed like she was reading something that she had not read before. Or maybe she was tired but it seemed like the narration got slower and slower and her speech more and more slurred. It was like someone else wrote the story and she wasn't familiar with it. Yes, it did detract and distract from the book. Probably should have read the book with my eyes instead of my ears.

Was Turning the Tables worth the listening time?

Probably not. Made prison sound more like a college dorm. Should have waited to buy this one when it goes on sale. I don't like to waste my money on books that are mediocre.

So, it was okay. But someone else needs to read it. It sounds like someone who is learning to read. Anyway, eh. I expected more

I love Teresa but.......

I loved the book but the way she read was absolutely annoying!!! change the speed!

Mixed feelings

Although I absolutely love Theresa and her story, I have to admit that it was quite difficult to get through this book only because I felt that Theresa’s reading skills weren’t so great. She paused was too many times and was literally reading 3 or 4 words at a time and it was annoying! That being said, I enjoyed the overall content of her book and will now listen to other book.

Wonderful memoir!

Must read or listen to! I listened to this in a day. Teresa is an incredible and strong woman

It was basically a jail diary

It was too much jail stories. It started to drag on and I would prefer more about family and how she felt different from the experience but didn’t need to have all the stories from jail.

The "Real" Teresa

Didn't particularly care for Teresa until I got this book. Some say the narration was bad but it wouldn't have been done right by any other narrator. Teresa was honest and touching as she spoke and seemed to be very sincere. No, it's not great literature but it does accomplish telling her story very well and through it you get the sense of who the real Teresa is and how hard it must have been for her to be away from her family. Guilty or not is not for me to judge, but, from her story I began to understand just what the real Teresa is like. She did her time and now this should be put behind her and the focus be put on getting through the next few years while her husband is "away". Seeing her through the RHONJ you don't get the real sense of who she is. Some questions, at least for me, were answered... Her sister-in-law and her cousin wanting to be on the show and making the deal to be included behind Teresa's back kind of showed their true motives. It's obvious that Melissa wanted to further her Singing career and the cousin wanted to bring light to her desert business not to mention all the others who had ulterior motives, I believe some of these motives pushed Teresa to portray herself in a false light on the RHONJ. No it was not Teresa's call for them to be included or not but this initial defeat and the stirring of the pot by Melissa fueled lots of ways to add "zest" to the series. Teresa is not jealous of any of them although they tried to further their story line to stay on the show by insinuating that she was. Teresa was very misunderstood in my eyes and although she's no rocket scientist she's not as clueless as some folks think. She's actually pretty smart, hardworking, is very business savvy and most of all she has a strong faith and love of her family. I think maybe her manner of speech and using the incorrect words at times, along with her Jersey slang may have given her a "bad rap". I say BRAVO Teresa, job well done, your honesty and bravery are heartwarming.

This is certainly not Shakesphere, but, is was worth the credit; I enjoyed the book and it's much more believable than "down the rabbit hole" tell all. I hope and pray things work out for her and her family and I say good luck and God Bless!
