Hard story of recovery

I feel like this book jumped around alot. Back and forth between time period confused me a bit. Heavy trigger warnings ⚠️. Its is a good story about addiction and clawing your way back from the darkness. Solid read and would recommend.

i couldnt stop reading

i love this book so much i want to read it again. so emotional and relatable and i highly recommend it to anyone who has been effected by addiction, or any kind of trauma! this book hits so different in so many ways 🥲

A Detailed Look At Addiction

This was a short and wonky story. The main character's jump from casual drug usage to addiction seemed to happen pretty quickly with no development, but maybe that's true to experience. There was a lot of attention to detail in regards to drug and alcohol usage, almost like a love letter to addiction. The narrator had very little vocal variety and a strange way of pronouncing certain words.
Karmen wasn't a likeable character, and the ending of the book was unsatisfying in my opinion, but maybe it was just too real? Overall, a decent story of how addiction changes lives.

I loved the characters and relationships!

I liked the story and the characters. I didn’t like that the characters voices weren’t different! I am an avid audiobook listener and it was hard keeping track of Ruth and Karmen!
