Great story & narrator

My second book by this Author and I appreciate her approach to a clean romance whilst still holding the tension between the couple.
Loved Mr Branbury and hope there's more of him to come.
Very interesting info on Bedlam and reforms.
Definitely an Author and Narrator worth following 👌

A lovely surprise

This is a wonderful story! I enjoyed the time period and appreciate all the historical research. The characters and the story are captivating. The narration is excellent.

Interesting but

I found the heroine annoying, manipulative, meddling and often juvenile. The love scenes between her and Henry for the first half of the book became tedious. I get that Henry found Arabella a ‘light’ in his dark world, but the author focused on physical more, over and over again, until it became exasperating. I considered quitting the story, but stuck with it to learn about Henry’s sister. Never really did learn much, but maybe that is by design for some sequel. MJW is good, but a bit dramatical in this story.

This book was even better then I expected. I hope the series continues and we hear more about some of the other hinted at story lines.

Slow start but great story and perfect ending. As always the narrator is key to any audible book

Greatest Narrator Ever

Such a fun book! I laughed throughout the entire reading. Will definitely listen again at some point.

Humorous and warm hearted

Loved the storyline - much more original than a typical Regency romance, the endearing characters, and that it made me laugh. And the absolute best narrator I’ve ever heard. Made an 8 hour drive fly by!

Lovely story, great performance

I usually prefer much more spice, but Gentry did a great job with building tension and the story was fantastic. The supporting characters were as amazing and three dimensional as the FMC and MMC. Mary Jane Wells was stellar, as usual. Overall, great job!

Narration was incredible

I’m fairly sure it was a good story but Mary Jane Wells brought the characters to life. The brooding baron had “madness” in his family and was certain he should never marry. Yeah, right. Dealing with the asylums in the 19th century is always frightening. Thankfully we weren’t in it for too long.
