Riveting Dark Fantasy

I enjoyed this first book of the series. I was gripped by this story from the opening paragraphs until the very end. I admired the worldbuilding. I liked the slow reveal of the strengths of the characters which were made known through the almost non-stop action, and the way they faced challenges. I was amused by the dialogue between the group of strangers who became friends through their trials. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I thought Julia Eve's narration was fine. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which included my honest opinions regarding this story.
