Checkmate: This is effortless is book 2 of Drew and Courtney story. It starts off right where book one left off so you must read book 1 This is Reckless first. Drew and Courtney’s relationship is completely different from the drag out knockdown relationship that V and Travis shared but it is no less beautiful. It’s sweet and Drew is everybody’s picture perfect candidate of Prince Charming. There is just one problem with it all Mia F***in Montgomery and she could end it all for them in a blink of the eye and she’s crazy enough to do just that. I received a free advanced copy through Audible to read and review. Now on to the next one...

OMG Mia is crazy!!!!

Mia freaking Montgomery strikes again! The story of Drew and Courtney continues and it was one full of easy and loving sweet chemistry growing between the two but as close as they are getting to move past to something more there is something/someone who is making their lives on edge. Love is quite the challenge when obstacles keep standing in their way which in turn will have you feeling some intense moments from all angles.

How much can you throw at them?

This is book 2 of the Drewtney duet. If you haven't read This is Reckless, go back and do that first.

Drew and Courtney are finally together, happy and so absolutely perfect for each other. But the shoes keep dropping like the universe (aka Kennedy Fox) needs them to always be on guard to defend that happiness. It makes for an amazing story. I just want to wrap Courtney and Drew up in a bubble and protect them from it all.

We pick up exactly where we left off on the WTF moment that is the Vegas cliffhanger. We then spend a significant portion of the book dealing with the after effects of this event.

Both Drew and Courtney have some minor PTSD from the event. Court is jumping at everything that goes bump in the night when Drew's not home and Drew is just as anxious to be with her to keep her safe. But through it all, their relationship progresses and they grow as a partnership.

It does continue to hang over their heads preventing them from being truly able to move on until everything is resolved. But one it does get there, all is right with the world and we get the promised HEA. You just have to ignore all the "when will the other shoe drop" feelings and enjoy the ride and the "OMG" moments when they hit.

Because this is a continuous series, we see more of Traviola and their kids, we get glimpses of characters who will come in future stories (fingers crossed) and the foundation is laid for the next couple in the series. The way Kennedy Fox chains their series is epic. I just want to keep going, non-stop, who needs sleep? just give me the next story!

Narration was performed in full by Lia Langola. The more I listen to her, the more I'm loving her voice and performance. The accent for Courtney and her brothers was so great to hear. It allowed me to sink deep into the story and allow myself to be swept away.

That Darn Mia!!!

Deputy Drew Fisher knows how to take care of his woman, Courtney! This is an absolutely wonderful audiobook! I loved the romance part, the suspense part and everything in between! Such a wonderful book! The storyline is great! The Kennedy Fox duo did a fantastic job with this series! Totally loved this one! Definitely recommend it!

Love Drew and Courtney!

Finally the conclusion to Drew and Courtney’s story! That cliffhanger from “This is Reckless,” if was seriously WTF??!!? That Mia is like a rash... comes unexpectedly and is takes a while to get rid of it. Friends to lovers, these two overcame so much to get their happy. The authors put these two together so well it’s hard to remember that they aren’t real people!

Lia Langola did a phenomenal job narrating the characters and brought their story to life.

Oh that Mia!!! Lol I just love this series. I can’t wait for the next one. These are the best books. Drew and Court are wonderful. And I can’t wait for Logan’s story next. And to see how The amazing Lia Langola Narrates it!! I adore her and the Kennedy Fox Duo

This is Effortless

This duology is amazing. You really should read the first book This is Reckless first. This book was filled with so many feels and oh my gosh the crazy drama. Drew's crazy ex and stressful job is putting strain on both of them. When the crazy ex goes off the deep end with her crazy things get interesting, making it hard to put this book down. Such a fun read. The narrator is awesome. She reads in such a way that I never have to question who is talking. Even if I'm distracted while listening her different voices for each person makes it easy to keep track of who's talking and what's happening. Awesome read. Loved it and can't wait for the next book in the series.

I Love This Audio Book !!!

I love Kennedy Fox books and after listening to the Check Mate This Is Reckless audio book I was counting down the days until This is Effortless was out !. When I got a chance to listen to this story I put aside everything else I was doing I dived into this story and It was fantastic!
In this book, we pick up where we left off in This is Reckless. Drew wakes up to see that ex girlfriend is in his bed and Courtney is no where in site , honestly for a few seconds I was filled with dread thinking .. did Mia kill her ? lol , because honestly, I feel like she is crazy enough to do that .Thankfully drew is able to get by Mia twisted advances and find Courtney, when I tell I was relieved to find that she was okay I was mean I literally shouted out in relief.What I loved about Drew and Courtney relationship is that no matter what happened and trust me so much happens and now matter what Mia throws at them and she throws a lot ,they stay together and that just shows you how strong there relationship has become. I loved the romance in this book it was sexy , fun and filled with swoon worthy moments. Honestly, these two were too cute for words at multiple parts of this story. I felt like I couldn't get enough of Drewtney ( If you are wondering that is a combination of Drew and Courtney ) and I felt like they got such a perfect story . Besides the romance there were so many other things going on in this story , mainly with Mia , Oh My Gosh I felt like Mia went completely of the rails , have you ever watch Fatal attractions with Glenn Close ? .. she was that type of crazy and when I found out she was working with all this time I was honestly shocked because it just threw me for a loop and I just love that in my stories I love that Kennedy Fox always finds away to keep you on your toes.
Checkmate This is Effortless was wonderful , it was sexy , funny , addicting and unique In away that only Kennedy Fox can create . I also want to take this moment to praise the narrator Lia Longola who can do no wrong in my eyes , she narrates this story perfectly and I hope she narrates every Kennedy Fox book ever. I also loved that we got to check in with Travis and Viola and at the same time we got hints on what to expect in the Logan and Kayla's story . I am sad to end Drew and Courtney story , but at the same, I cannot wait to see what Kennedy Fox have in store for us next . If you have not started Drew and Courtney story yet you definitely should and If you have and you are wondering if you should pick up the next book , the answer is yes , pick this book up as soon as you can .

Couldn't put it down.

I am loving this series of books, each story is unique, but this one draws you in with the wonderful way the author weaves friendship, love and psychotic ex-girlfriend all together. I have a new favorite author to add to my list.

Better than the first duet, if possible!

Lia does an amazing job of bringing the characters to life. She has a voice I could listen to all day!

Just when I thought nothing could top the first Duet, I'm #TeamDrewtney all the way! I've also never hated a character more than Mia! This is a great conclusion to the series for Drew and Courtney. The authors are great at giving you a spicy read while keeping you on your toes! Love, love, loved it...and now need all thing blueberry muffin-related! 🦊💙📖
