When Sylvia and her sister Claudia were teenagers, they had entered a quilt in the Sears National Quilt Contest for the 1933 Century of Progress Exposition, also known as the Chicago World’s Fair. The Bergstrom sisters’ quilt would be perfect for the Historical Society’s exhibit, Summer explains.

Sylvia is reluctant to lend out the quilt, which has been stored in the attic for decades, nearly forgotten. In keeping with the contest’s “Century of Progress” theme, the girls illustrated progress of values—scenes of the Emancipation Proclamation, woman’s suffrage, and labor unions. But although it won ribbons, the quilt also drove a wedge between the sisters.

As Sylvia reluctantly retraces her quilt’s story for Summer, she makes an unexpected discovery—one that restores some of her faith in this unique work of art, and helps shine some light on a way forward for the Elm Creek Quilts community.

Enjoyed getting caught up with the Elm Creek quilters!

Only thing to dislike was it was too short! Great storyline and storytelling. Hope additional episodes in the series are coming.

Love all the Elm Creek books. I especially love the historical parts of these books. I always learn something fascinating about history.

Narration

Narration added so much to the fascinating story filled with history and family moments. Couldn’t put it down!

Remembering the cast of characters of all the previous titles. Jennifer Chiaverini makes her stories come to life beautifully!

Return to Quilt Camp

I'm glad the author has taken us back to Elm Creek. I read the series a while ago and Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker, but I most enjoyed stories about the quilt makers, Sylvia and her staff. Christina Moore's narration brings the characters to life.

old friends reunion

I love this series...every storyline..every character. Salty Sylvia and her life stories have kept me entertained from the first book. A crumudgily Aunt that we all wish we had. thank you for continuing the story...hope there will be many more.

Everything is Sharp as a Needle

Elm Creek Quilts is alive with an old new quilt to cherish, character so interesting and seem to almost seem to be real. I like how Sylvia works out problem realize changes she needs to address. Great book, nice story

Good, but not great

I’ve been enjoying the stories of Sylvia Bergstrom and her associates for many years: I’ve listened to every one of the over twenty books telling their stories; this one was enjoyable, but not quite as much as the others. That might possibly be due to the insufferable Claudia; I really don’t know.
At any rate, I’m glad I listened to this one; I’ll await the next.

Love the Quilting Theme

I’m so glad to revisit these characters and learn about another quilt. I will admit I thought it would end differently so I’m glad it wasn’t predictable. Looking forward to more installments.
