Engaging and inspiring
This short listen left me better informed and smiling. It isn't an instruction book - don't expect step 1) step 2) etc, but the information is well-organised and apposite - it's like having an intelligent person with a fun personality who genuinely wants to help sit down next to you to explain how she started as a narrator from scratch, by way of personal experience and anecdote. It contains useful information about exactly where to start - where to find a free course that leads you directly into the work, and what to expect when you first begin to audition and work with authors. The genuineness of the author/narrator is brought out fully in her voice - 30 understated years of working as an entertainer certainly tell - and this offers a lesson in narration in itself.
