Blaine Marlowe’s jet-set lifestyle is ripped from him after an argument with his girlfriend at a Gatlinburg bar. As he walks to cool off, a beggar approaches him and asks for money. Blaine walks in the other direction only to be knocked unconscious. He awakens in a strange motel room that is destroyed from the inside out. Even stranger is the video of him turning into a black wolf with the help of the beggar and another wolf. He learns he’s been turned into a werewolf.
He begins his quiet homesteading life in the Tennessee mountains. After a full moon, he awakens in the field behind his cabin. As he returns to the cabin, he sees the wolves who turned him into a werewolf. He starts to yell at them but then realizes they're dumping a body in front of his cabin. He runs toward them as they speed away. He turns toward the body and finds an unconscious little girl.
She’s been bitten by the wolves.
The Wolverton Virus is a new take on a werewolf adventure, combining a sense of community, of family ties, and taking a leap of faith to let someone into the heart after being hurt.
