Saunder, her innocence and ability to believe in things she cannot see or explain

I did like it a lot but I think I’ve been reading too much fantasy recently because I was so confused for awhile, genuinely believing I was going to be getting a story about 5 princesses that travel to another world. It took be awhile to realize, oh this is a story with an underlying message of growing up as a young girl in todays world, society, America. There were some parts that were hard for me to listen to but that’s on me because the TW’s were listed. Overall I give it 4 stars and I know it’s a story that will stick with me for a long time.

An outstanding debut!

Visceral and absolutely relatable, this is the book I wish I’d had nearly 30 years ago. My inner teen feels much less alone after this story. Share this book with all the YA ladies in your life and remind them to stay weird!

Wowza! Why aren’t more people talking about this?!

This book rocked my world. Took me a bit to get into it bc I came off a fantasy high but it’s not this book’s fault. It takes a bit to develop. But oh my, this should be required teenaged girl reading or in any women’s studies class. Highly recommend. And the same narrator as Fourth Wing. It worked. Now I need to read the hardcopy and underline and notate the crap out of it!
