Great characters great stories. All gems to read

Loved the Mackenzie books. Loved the men and their women.
I have read some more than once.

Enjoyable series

Good world and character development. Daniel is somewhat the black sheep of the family. He always seems to do the right thing in the end.

I'll take a Daniel Mackenzie anyday

I've been waiting a long time to hear Daniel's story. Once again Jennifer Ashley doesn't disappoint.

Quickly about the narrator.... she has definitely improved over the books.

Violet is a great character....different from most.. she's unique. She's a perfect match for Daniel.

There's some plot surprises and twists and turns that keep you interested and guessing. There is a dark element which gives this book substance, but overall it's a fun and exciting love story.

Which character – as performed by Angela Dawe – was your favorite?

All of them! Angela Dawe is FANTASTIC and I LOVE her portrayal of ANY of the Mackenzie men-SO sexy (performed by a woman, is that wrong?)

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Daniel's confrontations with the 2 men from Violet's past...without giving anything away, the scenes were intense!

I'm not a fan of historical romance but Jennifer Ashley is fantastic and I wait with great anticipation for each new release!

Love Daniel’s Wicked Deeds!

This was a good story. I love Daniel and his honesty and attitude. Ian is still my favorite and it is nice to hear how much everyone has grown since Ian’s story.

One of my favorites!!

If you've read the books in this series, then you have been there as Daniel Mackenzie grew from an impetuous teen to an honorable man. This is a great story, fulfilling Daniels' own claim that he would marry someone just like his aunt Bertie.
Though I have to admit that nearly every story ends the same (someone gets shot/stabbed, fever, etc. ) that doesn't take away from the overall romance.
Daniel is a deep character, one that has been around from the beginning in many different capacities. Pairing him with a woman worthy enough was a difficult task. I think Ashley did a good job with Violet, making her as deep and layered as Daniel.
As always Angela Dawe is perfection in narration.
This is one of my faves.

I have loved this series from the start but this might be one of my favorites! The way this family sticks together is amazing. Jennifer Ashley truly portrays honor, love, family, friendship and even consequences. I can't wait to keep reading the series!

This is worth a credit and a re listen eg The four Sr. MacKenzie brothers and Elliott McBride. I use 1.25x speed to match the adventure. Give it a try. This author knows the value of pairing with narrator Ms Angela Dawe. None better for a Scottish brogue. Try Hanna Howell Murray series, for a step back to the 1465 period. Lol with My fave book 5,6,10.
This is the long awaited Daniel’s adventure and what a great delight in finding the author had a very special place in her heart for this rogue. Author kept and continues with the twinkling eyes of young Danny now 25 yrs old. He is kind, not jaded, and you just want to scoop him up for an older brother. His wagering days eg MacKenzie Christmas are no longer needed as his new inventions are prosperous and fun. If you only try one book in this series, this would be my choice to get the flavor of this author, clan, and adventures.

Love the story.... But the narrator killed it for me

I love this series. I enjoy the story and characters. The narrator was very off putting. He accents left much to be desired and the way she speaks is ... Challenging.

I think this may be my favorite book so far. I love Daniel and Violet and all of Daniel’s family. I love that Angela Dawe is the narrator. She does such a wonderful job.
