The Wake Up Call examines the October 7, 2023, terrorist attack when Hamas and Gaza terrorists breached Israel's borders, brutally murdering 1,200 people and kidnapping 250 others. This attack marked the worst security breach in Israel’s history. “10.7” ignited a global surge of antisemitism, spreading across university campuses and city streets worldwide.
Israel Ellis captures the growing fear and sense of betrayal among Jews outside of Israel. Through interviews with those directly impacted and his own insights, he investigates how such a devastating attack could occur.
Ellis identifies seven key factors: global power struggles, Iran-backed terror proxies, Hamas’s misuse of aid, UNRWA’s perpetuation of the Palestinian refugee crisis, anti-Israel and antisemitic rhetoric, flaws in Israel’s political system, and Jewish disunity. He calls for a global reckoning, urging the dismantling of the “syllabus of hate,” a pervasive narrative that fuels anti-Israel and antisemitic sentiments in educational and cultural spheres.
The Wake Up Call is a compelling exploration of rising extremism threatening democratic values. Ellis contends that the Iranian regime and its proxies represent a radical distortion of Islam, unreflective of the larger Arab community or the true interpretation of the Qur’an.
The book is thoroughly researched. The Wake Up Call provides a balanced account of the past, the present, and a hopeful future of lasting peace.

Best Book on the Subject
Ellis has a well-rounded and well-informed perspective on the causes of the most horrific attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust. The thesis of the book is that Western Civilization is at war with Global Jihad. Ellis proves that thesis beyond the shadow of a doubt. Both the personal, factual, and conceptual content of the book, as well as the eloquence of the writing, are exceptional. Hence, the best book on the subject. Highly recommended.
