The Voice Quest: Discovering and Embracing Your Writing Soul started as a simple school assignment—an autobiographical piece titled "Geoffrey, Not Jeffrey." It was my way of claiming my identity in a world that often misunderstood it. What began as a graduate class exercise soon grew into something deeply personal and transformative.
Initially part of a larger collaborative book project that never saw the light of day, this piece held a special significance for me. It was more than just a school project; it was the seed of something meaningful. When the idea of publishing it in a scholarly journal didn't work out, I realized that rejection often points us toward a different, more fitting path. So, I expanded that initial essay into this book—a guide for anyone who, like me, has struggled to find their unique voice in writing.
