A hopeful, simple story.

First read it on Kindle, loved this simple hopefully story so much I bought the audio. It's now one of my favorites post apocalypse story along with 'The Last Tribe' and 'Odd Billy Todd' The narrator could use some improvements. Good one book story.

The way people are written as speaking is not how everyone talks. It sounds like someone proofread this book making all speech sound over proper. The story is interesting, although the narrator takes getting used to. It’s something you can listen to buy not thrilling or moving by any means.

dislike basically shoplifting supermarket sweep rol model ? bad guys as dangerous as an HOA , not how a disaster plays out more like a street fight

Kind of short but good

I wish this story had more “meat on its bones” but it was well done.

The characters are fairly well developed and the story flows well.

This book would make a good short movie.

Most of the story follows a couple groups of people coming to terms with their new reality and working together to survive in their new world. The was a decent post-apocalyptic survival story and the ending gives the reader a sense of hope for the survival of humanity.

Well researched survival

A good compelling listen with likable characters.
Clear and good narration.

I don't know if its a good or bad thing, but for an end of the world novel, it lacks tension. There wasn't many times I felt the characters were at risk.
That could be a good thing, since it read almost like an in character survial guide.

Thrilling

I found this book to be quite thrilling and exciting. It was very interesting to imagine the world where so many people have been killed off by a deadly virus. Leaving the survivors having to figure out how to survive like it was the 1700s all over again. The
author did a very good job of showing the survivors learning to adapt to the new environment. I would highly recommend this book. And I hope that someday we get to visit these characters again.

I was engaged from the first moment I started listening! I loved this book and look forward to listening to more! I highly recommend this book! You won't regret it!

Oh my so exciting

This book is excellent, you feel like you’re there every step of the way. The story of all these people who come together as survivors and make a richly loving atmosphere. Excellent story excellent narration thank you

A scary thought

Seeing the news with the virus from China... I can see this happening. A scary thought. I enjoyed the characters and K. Moody's portrayal. The book was fast pace. Mr. Ison always tells a great story.
