The Ugly Duckling
Inspired by one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most popular fairy tales, “The Ugly Duckling” tells the story of the little chick that didn’t fit in. Different from everyone else, our hero feels like an outcast, even though his true friends love him for who he is - but he might just have the last laugh! Read by Alan Smith, this adaptation of the story about how we treat each other is full of character - a lovely tale for bed-time! This one's suitable for children from ages 5 to 9.
Sleeping Beauty
When the king and queen of a magical kingdom decide to throw a huge party to celebrate the birth of their baby daughter, someone gets left off the guest list. And it's an omission which turns out to be a bit of a disaster for the princess and the whole kingdom! This traditional fairy story, originally by Charles Perrault, is adapted and read by Joanna Pinnock and comes complete with snoozing spiders!
The Hare and the Tortoise
This story is one of Aesop’s most famous fables, featuring the flashy, energetic hare and the slow and modest tortoise. Determined to prove he's the fastest, the hare challenges the tortoise to a race in this classic story, in which pride comes before a fall. Adapted and read by Alan Smith, this tale is bright, lively, and full of character.
Also includes “The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs”.
