This Thanksgiving, two birds of a feather are about to get plucked.

But these two city slickers should’ve known that small towns hide big secrets - and Thursday’s secrets go back more than a decade. Before long, Bingo and Handsome get tangled up in a bank robbery, face off with an escaped convict, follow the trail of a buried fortune, are wrangled into a fowl conspiracy, and come to a dead end when they become suspects in a murder. Vintage Rice, Without the Chasers
The adventures of Bingo Riggs and Handsome Kusak are just as entertaining, just as madcap, as the adventures of John J Malone and his friends Jake and Helene Justus. The only difference is a distinct absence of alcohol. Probably because Bingo and Handsome can’t afford it.
An advantage to these tales is that you meet a wider range of characters. A village idiot who can spell perfectly (he won state competitions in school) but can’t read. A sheriff who wishes (perpetually) that he never left the feed and seed business. A farm girl lovely enough for Hollywood…only she can’t act or sing.
And, as with all Craig Rice’s output, Johnny Heller is the perfect choice for this one. Only problem is, this is the last Riggs/Kusak tale Rice finished.

Fun mystery
The narrator is the absolute best! The stories are funny and characters are charming and witty. I have enjoyed the two in this series so far and plan to keep listening to the books from this author.
