Once again, Allen Watts does not disappoint. Articulates the apparent contradictions found in Western theological traditions and reconciles orientatial metaphysical constructs into a coherent world view without compromise of the Christian tradition or Eastern philosophy. well informed and enlightened read.

The untangling of Christian misconceptions alongside Eastern wisdom and Western psychotherapy.

The premise of this book reminds me of the teachings in much of the Alcoholics Anonymous literature. Watts untangles religious trauma and puts into perspective how much of society operates from ideas handed down from generations before them, but how important is to look beyond that and into one’s own being beyond those concepts to find truth in the supreme identity. I love Watt’s work and love it even more knowing his thoughts on this particular topic. I would absolutely rank it as one of my top 3 favorite books I’ve read.
