A fantastic science fiction ride

What did you love best about The Slant Six?

The story. It's exciting.

Which character – as performed by Matt Weight – was your favorite?

I've got to say Loman Phin, the main character. He's portrayed as a washed up guy who's been given one more chance and can't blow it, or else.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Strap in. Sit down. You're in for a ride.

A fresh take on the sci-fi thriller

What made the experience of listening to The Slant Six the most enjoyable?

The characters. Apart from being memorable they're well written and enjoyable.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the interaction between the characters. They're so varied: an uptight young lady of privilege, washed-up spaceship racer, a space vampire and a robot, and more.

Which character – as performed by Matt Weight – was your favorite?

The robot, "Little Mann."

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes!

Great story, great narration

Would you consider the audio edition of The Slant Six to be better than the print version?

Both versions are great, but I love Matt Weight's narration.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Slant Six?

I loved the death-race on Ceres. It's like NASCAR but in pace, and with really high stakes.

Have you listened to any of Matt Weight’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have (The Many Deaths of Cyan Wraithwate). His performances are consistently excellent.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It's extremely thrilling, but there are also some really funny parts as well as touching moments between Loman and Portia.

Buckle up and hang on!

This isn't your grandad's sci-fi. Loman's a down on his luck channelship racer who gets the deal of a lifetime, and this gets him hot water fast. Author Cobb pulls no punches. His writing fast and visceral, serves up hard-hitting sci-fi with no brakes or safety harness. Narrator Weight delivers an outstanding performance.

Mild spoiler alert: when the main character and female lead start to share their feelings for one another.

Yes! This book is action-packed from start to finish. It's a great blend of sci-fi and thriller.
