In book three, Margaret is the quiet one of the Winterton family, happy only in her own home with her sisters protectively gathered around her. As a poor relation, Margaret must become a lowly paid companion to two elderly aunts she has never met. There is no welcome for Margaret at their gloomy house, Pendarreth, but the surrounding woods bring her solace - and unexpected danger.

Wonderful

Great collection of 3 stories…..filled with notable & interesting characters. I always enjoy this narrator’s interpretation of all the myriad of characters!!

Wonderful Woodside saga!

I loved these stories and the vivid characters. Each story weaves together these amazing lives of the Woodside sisters. One problem. The recording ended before the last story ended! I was heartbroken!

Narrator’s Shrill Voice

I wish authors would get seasoned actors to narrate their work. When this narrator imitated children and young women, especially when they screamed or raised their voices in alarm, the narrator’s voice became as shrill as fingernails on a blackboard and I could not stand it. It was, literally, painful. It detracted from what would otherwise have been a pleasant story. How unfortunate.

omgoodness - how boring!

I kept giving the story time to develop, more time and more time. Finally had to give up. There was no point to the story. While the reader was not very engaging, she didn’t have much to work with. A waste of time.
