The gripping No. 1 Sunday Times crime thriller

Watch Will Trent on Disney+!

He watches.

A woman runs alone in the woods. She convinces herself she has no reason to be afraid, but she’s wrong. A predator is stalking the women of Grant County. He lingers in the shadows, until the time is just right to snatch his victim.

He waits.

A decade later, the case has been closed. The killer is behind bars. But then another young woman is brutally attacked and left for dead, and the MO is identical.

He takes.

Although the original trail has gone cold – memories have faded, witnesses have disappeared – agent Will Trent and forensic pathologist Sara Linton must re-open the cold case. But the clock is ticking, and the killer is determined to find his perfect silent wife….

Enjoyable but not her best

As a top fan of KS I can’t definitely tell you this isn’t her best work, I liked it and enjoyed it but her other stories have better twists, and at times I found it could of been edited. Was a bit long. Still love Karin though!

Horribly, annoyingly narrated!!

Once again Ms. Bouvard has done a great job spoilling the fun out of Karin's book. The way she squeaks her voice trying to make different sound of characters is so annoying I wanted so return the book. I haven't been to Atlanta, but if everone there speaks the way the narrater sounds, it would be quite a scary town to live in. Karin, if you have any say in choosing the narrater, please choose someone else next time for the sake of your book and your fans.

Wonderful story. Horrible narration

I was so frustarated with the narration that I bought a Kindle version of the book. I’ve listened to all of the Will Trent books and didn’t want to finish the series (though I’m hoping for many more books) with these voices. The narrator ruined the characters for me. Faith’s and Will’s were the worst.

very annoying narrator

The narrator is so annoying. Why does Jared sound like a 5-year-old? And Lena. NOBODY talks like that, unless they are braindamaged.
I gave up listening and bought the book.

Another great KS

I really like Karin Slaughter and this story did not disappoint. I enjoyed that we got into Sarah's past this time, but Faith is still my favourite character. The only distraction was the relationship between Will and Sarah, it is getting a bit ridiculous and off-putting now.

Good book, bad narrator

Book is very thrilling. Narrator is horrible, but the version narrated by Kathleen Early sadly isn’t available to purchase in my region. If it’s possible for you, pick that version instead.

Utterly disgusting narration that causes tinnitus

Please audible, don't your editors have ears? That they actually use? Why are you spoiling the whole experience by using a narrator who is giving grown up female characters whingy, nasal, childish voices that make you cringe in horror every time those high pitched whines reverberate through your headphones and make your ears ring in pain. Again and again and again! Why audible? Why? I don't get it. Laurence Bouvard has a perfectly acceptable, pleasant enough, if what nasal, voice. It gets horribly unpleasant however, when she tries to 'bring to live' the characters in the book. The voices she gives her characters are AWFUL: fully grown, professional women sound like spoiled, whiny, nasal mean girls from a bad teen movie and men sound like brainless, knuckle dragging cartoon characters. And if that isn't bad enough the high pitched screeches also really hurt your ears when you are using headphones. I'm utterly disgusted by the fact that audible thought this was good enough for us to pay money for. Shame on you, shame on Laurence Bouvard and shame on the directors of this audiobook! You should've stuck with Kathleen Early who is everything Laurence Bouvard is not, namely: a fantastic narrator that keeps your hearing intact.

Great story - narration ……..

Loved the story but unfortunately the narrator was terrible - the different voices that she gave the characters some were just cringe worthy!
