Still a fan of Horowitz

This installment of the Detective Daniel Hawthorne series continued to captivate me until the very end. It twisted and turned to the point that I didn't have a clue who had done it til the end. Every time a credible explanation was given I was on-board --- until the next credible explanation. Loved it. The reason for the downgrade in stars is the narrator. He is very good with the male voices, but his female voices were horrible. Not just bad -- horrible and hard to listen to.

Kept me guessing.

The story unfolds constantly opening new doors of possibilities. The mystery is solved with intelligent but believable investigation. I guess that what sums this book up the most; Realistic.

Great storyline and narration!

if you like mystery " who-done-it? " type of stories, this is a good one. It felt slow at first but it's definitely worth the read "or listen"!

Very good not as funny as the first though

I really enjoyed this and the banter did make me laugh out loud a couple times. The first book was a bit better as the real world characters were ones I knew. But still very very good listen.

Enjoyable

Liked the first in the series so tried this one. I thought it felt a bit formulaic/repetitive with Anthony jumping the gun on his conclusions again, the hiding of his activities from his wife and being stabbed by the killer again.

Much better than the first. One of Tony's best.

Very clever twists. Quite funny. Honestly on par with a Christie novel: keeps you guessing.

Couldn’t stop hearing this book

Such a fresh take on a mystery story. Brilliant that the author is a character in the story...It works! Listened to both books as I worked and want more!

great stories. great narration. this one had a few more characters than most, so you need to pay attention.

Excellent story by Horowitz

I started listening to Anthony Horowitz a couple of years ago and just picked back up with this series recently. I love the narrator and think the story is very well written. Great listen while doing housework and actual work. I’m off to buy the next book in the series!

Very enjoyable

I have read/listened to several mysteries by Mr. Horowitz. I found this to be one of my favorites.
I also appreciate the skill of the narrator. He was first rate!
