In The Sandman: Akt III, dem dritten Teil der New York Times-Bestseller-Hörspielsaga leiht Andreas Fröhlich ein weiteres Mal Morpheus, dem Herrscher der Träume, seine Stimme und vervollständigt damit das wahrscheinlich beste Ensemble für eine Hörspielproduktion, die es je gab. Dirk Maggs, der preisgekrönte Vorreiter auf dem Gebiet von Hörspielproduktionen, inszenierte die von Neil Gaiman (Good Omens) geschriebene DC Graphic Novel-Erfolgsserie und erschuf ein weiteres, äußerst eindringliches Hörerlebnis.
In Akt III veranlassen Familienangelegenheiten Morpheus dazu, sich auf eine große Reise zu begeben. Der Besuch bei seinem Sohn Orpheus hat weitreichende Folgen. Gemeinsam mit Delirium spürt er den entfremdeten Bruder Destruction auf, das einzige Mitglied der Ewigen, das jemals seinen Posten verlassen hat.
Infolge eines Sturms, der die Realität zu zerstören droht und schwerwiegende Folgen für Morpheus und den Rest der Ewigen hätte, findet sich in einer Taverne am Schnittpunkt aller Welten unfreiwillig eine Gruppe von Reisenden zusammen.
Die bekannte Besetzung der Hörspielserie kehrt zurück, einschließlich Maximiliane Häcke als Death, Matthias Deutelmoser als Cluracan und David Nathan als Erzähler. Sascha Rotermund ist diesmal neu mit von der Partie sowie Marcel Collé, Giovanna Winterfeldt und viele weitere Stimmen, die dieses Meisterwerk in ein Klangerlebnis verwandeln.
Höchste Zeit, die Augen zu schließen und zuzuhören. Ein weiteres mal.
