Ugh… I can’t listen til the end…

Every time I seem to be getting back into the story, the AI reader (while putting a narrator out of a job), messes up simple slang, or words… like “Ah” from Open Up and Say “Uh”. Or a “live album” pronounced with a soft I (as in “where do you live”). And it doesn’t stop there. Too many words are said wrong, that it strips my listening to figure out what was meant. Had to stop this listen in chapter 3. 😡
STOP USING AI.

Audible: please do not use AI for narration. It doesn’t seem to work. Definitely no imitation game.

The story is very well researched. However:This audio is generated by AI. The voice is pleasant, but the mistakes are intolerable. I truly cannot believe how bad AI narration can be. Numbers and words. For instance here is just a few.
The 80s are pronounced eighty S.
Lead singer is pronounced LEd singer.
Like the element of lead (Pb)???
And they must say that 50 times. Don’t know how they could not have corrected that one.
5150. Is Five thousand one hundred fifty.
And they also have major difficulties with numbers in front and after words. It’s sad because it distracts from a pretty decent story the author is trying to give us. I’m sure he was probably horrified when he heard it.
Dear Audible;Please don’t do AI until you get it right. I’ve listened to over 300 Audible’s and never have given a 1 to the performance. I would’ve given a zero if they offered it. That’s why I only gave it to stars for overall.

The AI voice was not good, please get a voice actor!

I like the story and the information, but the AI voice really brings the whole product down

Terrible AI generated narration.

I just can't get past the choppy performance and mispronunciations of the computer voice. The story and information are interesting and there were many great anecdotes, but the computer voice just kills it for me. Unfortunately some publishers are to cheap to hire a real person to narrate.
