Didn’t like the speakers voice

This book would have been much more enjoyable with a different speaker. I really didn’t like her attempt at a mans voice. Kinda ruined it for me.

Like revisiting an old friend

Since Kathleen Woodiwiss introduced me to the romance genre, it is great to have her novels on audio. Lynn Redgrave is a master narrator. Bravo

Kathleen is the best!

I struggled with Lynn as the narrator. Ive read many books by Kathleen and I decided to get this one on Audio, but I was very disappointed. The over all story is what I expected but I didnt like her voice. I didnt feel it fit the story. I really enjoyed the interview at the end!

The reluctant suiter

I love all Kathleen Woodiwiss books and historical romances. But it take a special reader for me .. I very much enjoy Anne Flosnic,s reading and voices .. I hope when the other Woodiwiss books become available, there is a reader like Flosnic. Her voices and story telling is absolutely amazing .

The Reluctant Suitor

This book was a historical romance and I enjoyed it immensely. The story line was good and it had romance and suspense. I highly recommend.

Disappointed

I have always loved Kathleen Woodiwiss novels. I could not wait for them to be available on audible. The narration was awful. The voice that Redgrave uses for the heroine was horrible. I was disappointed that it was not a narration of the whole book as well. I want to listen to other Woodiwiss novels and I’m hoping they will be better.

Horrible Narration

I'm sure Lynn Redgrave was a good actress; However book narration was not a talent she possessed. She would begin a sentence very loudly, then almost whisper the end of the sentence. I'm sure in the acting world, that is acceptible, but not when reading aloud.
I returned this title because i couldn't follow the plot due to not being able to hear.

Love the author but hated this story

It didn’t seem like Kathleen was really the author of this one. Lame story and the narrator sounded like her false teeth were about to fall out several times. Too old to play the characters.

I have always enjoyed Mrs. Woodiwiss’s books since I read SHANNA back in the early to mid 1970’s. Just can’t remember the year. it may have been in 1974. Her stories were so wonderful and adventurous. I have read them numerous times and look forward to listening to them again.
