Keepers Sorcha and Aidan have been told by the Goddess Miska that they must travel to Batca, halfway across the world, to find Bryn's Grimoire, which contains the last prophecies they need to create ‘old magic’. They are joined by their instructors, Dorjan and Faye; Faye’s husband Riordan; Goran, a priest of the goddess Fre; and a young mage, Kristopher, to whom the prophecies will be revealed. Unbeknownst to Aidan and Sorcha, a new dark magic faction is forming, even more powerful than the cabal, which was destroyed by Aidan’s sister, Keela.
