Acerca de esta escucha

The One-In-A-Million Boy: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!*

For years, guitarist Quinn Porter has been on the road, chasing gig after gig, largely absent to his twice-ex-wife Belle and their odd, Guinness records' obsessed son. When the boy dies suddenly, Quinn seeks forgiveness for his paternal shortcomings by completing the requirements for one of his son's unfinished Boy Scout badges.

For seven Saturdays, Quinn does yard work for Ona Vitkus, the spry 104-year-old Lithuanian immigrant the boy had visited weekly. Quinn soon discovers that the boy had talked Ona into gunning for the world record for Oldest Licensed Driver. Despite himself, Quinn picks up where the boy left off, forging a friendship with Ona that allows him to know the son he never understood.

*Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

It was incredibly sad throughout however so many good things came out of the boys death.

Incredibly sad yet breathtaking

I chose the newer released version wit the musical background.
It is awful. The story is so good that I am going to suck it up and keep listening—-but the musical ‘enhancement’ is distracting and even drowns out the dialogue at times.
Go with the original.....you’ll thank me later :)

Not even done yet—-listener beware!!!!

This book was astoundingly beautiful and the narrator is superb! My favorite narrator so far!

Worst choice of accompanying music and while narrator did multiple voices well, music was wrong

Terrible music

Best performance by a narrator I have ever heard and I have heard many. Great writer as well with a great story.

I listened to the entire audio book, believing that it would improve as the story evolved. It did not! The plot line had potential, but the story could have benefited from good editing. Depressing and life lessons it tried to present were lost in the wandering of the plot. It was painful to listen to the reader, who sounded like the characters were from Brooklyn rather than Maine.

Depressing, plodding, and lacking editing
