Amazing

This book is wonderful and I want the sequel yesterday. Do yourself a favor and listen/read this book.

An enjoyable, escapist read

This story was beautifully written. More so at the beginning than the end. But the author has a gift for verbally creating a world that you can vividly see in your mind without the frustrating addition of over describing (as can be so common in fantasy books).

I wanted there to be more. Several of the storylines just felt like they ended and you’re wondering why. I’m assuming this will be a series. If not then really not a fan of the ending. Otherwise it sets up well for a sequel.

I’m curious to see how she’ll continue this story! I love the world she’s created.

Excellent Fantasy ...Bad Narration

I initially took this off my TBR and decided that I didn't have a strong enough interest in reading this book...but, something called me back to it. I am very glad I did because I thoroughly enjoyed it! I spent the majority of my Saturday reading this book without putting it down.

The story really picks up in the end, and the ending felt similar to The Belles. I think this was a great debut to a series. I can't wait to read part 2.

Even though I loved the story, the narration was horrible! The inflection in Justine Eyre' voice is incredibly annoying and I tried my best to not let it get in the way from enjoying the story. Of course, I pushed through but, I really hope a different narrator is used for part 2, I don't think I can do it again.

I love how this book has the chapters set up: each chapter is told from a characters perspective and the perspective changes throughout the book. I both love and hate being inside the head of Nirrim. I love the world and the characters you're supposed to love, while hating the characters you're supposed to hate. it's just very good, try it.

this is a beautiful book with a really wonderful sapphic romance and I honestly cannot recommend it enough

I will officially read anything and everything that Marie Rutkoski writes. Such a perfect book.

Don't waste your credit!

I couldn't connect with this story. Sad I paid for it. Weird, because I gave her Winner's Curse Book 1, 5 stars! And the 2nd book I gave 4 stars!!

What a stupid girl

I hope she doesn’t succeed, I was annoyed by her talking and behaviour. The narrator didn’t make it easier to listen to her either.This story had so much potential and got ruined. What a waste.
